What is this game
Order Automatica is a dark tactical roguelite where automated battles are won before they even begin — a tactical auto-battler with roguelite elements. Build deadly synergies on a small 3×3 ritual grid, position your units carefully, manipulate tiles, and prepare for brutal encounters against demonic enemies. Players take part in a demonic ritual and must stop it at all costs by snuffing out every candle burning in the name of dark forces — but with each candle blown out, the enemies grow more powerful. Fans and the studio alike describe it as “chess with demons.”
Developed by New Beings (Mickey Sanchez's solo studio, Portland) and published by better. publishing, Comma 49 and New Beings. Battles unfold automatically on 3×3 boards, leaving players to focus on selecting and positioning their units — success lies in powerful combinations, clever tactics, and knowing when to unleash curses and demonic abilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions new players ask most — each links to the deeper wiki page.
What is Order Automatica and how do you play it?
It’s a dark tactical roguelite auto-battler: you build synergies on a 3×3 ritual grid and position units before battles resolve automatically. Start with the Beginner’s Strategy Guide for a full walkthrough.
What are the best builds?
Meta is still forming post-launch. See the Best Builds page for community-tested compositions and the Units & Enemies list for the pieces behind them. Ready-made rosters live on the Team Comps & Unit Reviews page, and if a run keeps wiping you out, the difficulty & team adjustment guide explains how the ritual escalates by rank.
How do units and synergies work?
Units trigger effects when placed on matching tiles; combining them creates synergies & combos that scale damage and control. The grid & tile-effects primer explains placement.
How much does it cost, and is there a free demo?
The current price is $5.99 — see confirmed prices. A free demo is playable on Steam if you want to try before buying.
What platforms is it on?
Steam, GOG, Switch, Xbox, PS4/PS5, iOS and Android — all out now. Full list on the release & platforms page.
Is there an Android version or APK?
Yes — the Android build is a paid app on the official Google Play listing (package com.order_automatica), and iPhone/iPad users get it from the App Store. There is no separate APK to sideload, so skip third-party APK sites — the game is premium-priced and unofficial copies are a common malware vector. Rather than buying blind, most players start with the free Steam demo. Details on the platforms page.
Is It Worth Buying? (What Players Say)
Order Automatica sits at “Very Positive” on Steam. In a 70-review sample we read, the most-discussed theme by a wide margin was builds and team setup (roughly a third of reviews), followed by difficulty scaling — players consistently praise the tactical depth that comes out of a board with only nine cells:
“Finding new synergies and watching a setup actually work is super satisfying.”
“The synergies between cells are fun, especially when the positive/negative effects start to affect your grid.”
“There’s a solid variety of mechanics and they are easy to grasp, making it rewarding to build synergies and turn hindrances to your benefit.”
The “depth” players mention is the trigger system: units firing off neighbouring cells, rows, columns and numbered tiles, then chaining into scaling synergies. That is what the synergy page documents and what the Unit Compendium and Best Builds pages turn into practice.
Two honest caveats before you decide. First, this is a buy-to-own premium game at $5.99 with no free-to-play mode — the free demo is the only way to play without paying, and it runs the near-final build, so it is genuinely enough to answer the “will I like this?” question. Second, reviews are a starting point rather than a verdict: the studio shipped several balance patches in the first fortnight, so any specific unit or comp advice in a review may already be dated. Try the demo, then read the deeper pages via the Beginner’s Guide.
